Giovanni MVF

2004 RPSI Oldenburg Mustang Gelding
(Gatsby x Lillianna)

Well ... I am really excited and also bit sad today.

I received word from Gio's owner, Yve', that she has sold him. Giovanni was our second MVF bred foal. I knew that he was for sale as Yve' is planning on going back to school and has her beautiful 7 month old daughter to take care of. This was a very tough decision as Gio is awesome and she said that, "we bred her the perfect horse", but she felt Gio need to continue to reach his full potential and she wasn't able to give Gio the time he needed right now in order to do it herself.

The great news is that Giovanni was sold to an Advance Event rider in Washington. The plan is to start showing him next spring. This is quite a compliment to Yve' and how she brought Gio up to this point and to our breeding program. I am very excited to see and hear about Gio's future showing.

Go Gio!!!
Can't wait to see you on the event course :-)

The MVF Blog is BACK!

Today a good friend of mine gently encouraged me to get this blog going again. I am going to try to be better about updating it. Things have been really hectic around Meadow View Farm for the past several months. I have added several posts and updates going back to June 2008. I am sure I will be adding more as I go. :)

We are selling many of our broodmares in order to keep some of Guthrie's 2008 foals. My goal all along has been to create Silver Sport Horses. By keeping the girls I will be able to advance my program again in a few years. Also by not breeding my own mares it will give me the time I need to get Guthrie going under saddle. He gets played with occassionally but his training has pretty much halted due to all the foalings and work around the place.

Also as many of you already know I have other websites. http://www.silverequine.com/ and http://www.silversporthorses.com/ besides the Meadow View Farm one. Lately SilverEquine has been getting a lot of interest and needs more of my attention. I feel it is really important to my future business and to breeding that people are educated about the Silver Dilutions gene. the Silver Sport Horses site will be for the silver warmblood and sport horse foals MVF and others produce. I am considering doing a blog for those sites as well.
Those are my plans for now :)

Exciting News!

Ken, Dominique and I went to visit the 2nd MVF bred foal, Giovanni MVF, by Gatsby in Washington.

It was so fun. I got to ride him!! He was awesome. Gio has huge gaits and so much potential. It was an incredible moment just after sitting on him realizing I am riding a magnificent horse that I created. Words just can't describe how proud you feel when you see you youngster becoming such great partners and athletes.

Can you believe how much he has grown up! He will be 5 years old in 2009!

Thank you Yve' !!!

Rockville Centre 'Lizzie' is off to sunny Arizona!

Lizzie left today for her new mom, Shauna in sunny Tucson, Arizona! Shauna says it's been 80 degrees down there. Lucky Lizzie gets to get out of the soggy Oregon rain.

Shauna is very excited about getting Lizzie, putting her back into work and picking the perfect stallion for her. The few she has in mind would make an outstanding foal with Lizzie!
